you can go again to nosy iranja !

Legacy Hotels & Resorts International Manages Iranja Lodge
presse release 2005
Legacy Hotels & Resorts International, the South African-based hotel management company with luxury 4- and 5-star hotels in South Africa, Namibia and Ghana, is the new custodian of Iranja Lodge, the tropical Madagascan haven.
Nosy Iranja, is also know as “Turtles’ Island”. Its name is attributed to the hawksbill turtle finding refuge in the sand for their eggs, and consists of two islands conjoined by a sandbank, which is submerged at high tide. The lodge is set amidst thirteen hectares of tropical gardens on the private, uninhabited islet of Iranja Kely, linked by a sandbank to a second island (+/- fifty hectares) offering an historic lighthouse, beaches, flora and fauna, all surrounded by the crystal waters of the Mozambique Channel. Nosy Iranja can be reached by a seventy minute speedboat trip from Nosy Be.
Not only is Legacy Hotels & Resorts International excited about acting as the manager of Iranja Lodge, but also about the project that is in the process of upgrading this tropical paradise retreat to a six-star resort.
During the first phase of this refurbishment, which is currently underway, the lodge built of wood and other natural materials will see a total refurbishment of the kitchen and dining facilities, as well as providing guests with the highest quality crockery, cutlery and glassware. Fine dining and seafood delicacies are to become a speciality. Luxury linen and safes have been installed in all of the rooms. For an unforgettable conference, state-of-the-art equipment is already in the process of being put into service. A second, private restaurant on the south beach can be utilised for group functions. To ensure that guests to Iranja Lodge experience comfort in everything that they do, all fishing and diving equipment has been replaced. All the boats used for recreational activities have had Global Positioning Systems (‘GPS’) and two-way radios installed. A sophisticated sea recovery desalinator is being installed to provide fresh water to the guests, and save equipment from the corroding effects of seawater. This phase sees completion by December 2006.
Visitors to Iranja Lodge are ensured a customised stay. It is the ideal honeymoon destination, where couples can enjoy private moonlit dinners on their veranda or indulge in world-renowned massages with Madagascan essential oils. With 28 luxurious suites and a villa overlooking the ocean reef, all with their very own private veranda and a staff guest ratio of 4:1, guests at Nosy Iranja can expect the utmost privacy, comfort and unwavering service excellence. Some of the leisure activities available are fishing, including deep sea fishing, windsurfing, boat rides, dolphin and whale watching, scuba-diving snorkelling, water-skiing and paragliding and walks to see the lemurs on the mainland – there is something for everyone.
Under the guardianship of the general manager, Jean-Marie Gras, who holds an MBA in International Hospitality Management from the Cornell University, Iranja Lodge is expected to become one of the most sought after Indian Ocean destinations.
